Kick-Ass Review
Excessive violence? Yes.
Bad Language? Check.
A kid killing a lot of people? Yes!!
A little bit of sex? Just enough.
Funny Stuff? Yup.
A little girl getting punched in the face? Repeatedly? Of course!!
Kick-Ass has something for the whole family!
Now I’m not much of a reading man, so I’m not very familiar with the comic book, but I don’t think that’s very necessary. If you’ve seen the trailer you know what it’s about: A kid tries to be a superhero, and with the help of some other vigilantes they try to take down a mob boss.
I thought the movie looked alright when I first heard about it, but I became a lot more interested when I found out it was rated-R. I’m sure the studio could have just made it PG-13 and made a lot more money off it, but they stayed true to the ultra-violent comic book, and I respect that a lot.
I really enjoyed the movie. Lots of fighting, cursing, blood, killing, stabbing, shooting, and ass-kicking. Who wouldn’t? A lot of the fight scenes are pretty bad ass, and there’s a lot of humor throughout the flick. People have been complaining and there’s some controversy over the violence and such. I don’t know what people want, its rated-R so kiddies really shouldn’t be able to watch it. Adults can watch whatever they want to watch and they want violence!
The guy who played Kick-Ass (Aaron Johnson) did a great job. He was funny and believable and hopefully this will help him get more roles. Nicholas Cage (Big Daddy) was actually quite the badass, and I enjoyed his character. His daughter, Hit-Girl played by Chloe Grace Moretz, almost stole the show. She was like a sword wielding, knife throwing version of some action hero that’s really cool… Or something. She was awesome, is my point.
We have the trailer posted below, a few days ago, but don’t waste your time. Just go watch the movie!
Chloe Grace Moretz is Hit-Girl
