Crazy Heart and Free Movie Tickets!
Just watched Crazy Heart, with Jeff Bridges (The Big Lebowski) and Maggie Gyllenhall (Sherrybaby), about an old down-and-out country singer and his attempt at a comeback after finding a special gal. The storyline may not sound too interesting, but what’s special about this movie are the performances; that and the music. Bridges and Gyllenhall were excellent and certainly worthy of their Oscar nominations (only Bridges has a chance though) and Robert Duvall and Colin Farrell were solid as well.
While I don’t typically listen to country music (yea, everyone says that) I really did enjoy the music in this movie, and the title song is also up for an Oscar (The Weary Kind). The movie is getting a lot of play because of Bridges’ performance so it’s likely playing near you. So, you know, go watch it.
With all this Oscar talk, this is a great opportunity to let everyone know about our new contest.
