Champions Online: The Blood Moon Raises Free Weekend Event
For those that couldn’t play the game during the open beta stage or release, the folks at Cryptic are giving players another chance to try Champions Online for free. The promotional weekend starts on October 30th and ends on November 2nd. The reason for this “free weekend” is to invite players to participate in the Halloween Event called “The Blood Moon Rises” that starts on October 27th.
What can players expect of Blood Moon? Well according to Cryptic:
- Wolf Hunters: Players will have the chance to join the Wolf Hunters and rid the land of the abominable Werewolves. Falling to one of the beasts will force the player to rise under the curse.
- Rise of Takofanes: The Undying Lord has risen and is appearing throughout Millennium City. Those strong enough can try to defeat him and earn unique perks and rewards.
- New PvP Map: A brand new PvP map is introduced allowing players to fight endless waves of zombies. Those defeated will rise as a zombie and become the enemy.
- Celestial Power: The first new power set will be introduced to players two weeks before everyone else only if they save the 13 Undead Heroes.
- Blood Moon Perks and a few extra rewards.
I had great fun when I was playing Champions Online but the PvP in the game really killed it for me. The new map seems interesting and deserves a second chance, it is free to try after all.
