Hope For PlanetSide 2?
Let’s remember an oldie, PlanetSide: one of the first MMOFPS ever released. The game featured REAL FPS action in an MMO world. PS world involved hundreads of players in a single fight, where territory control and domination altered the three available factions. PlanetSide offered players an experience system that is divided in three parts: Battle, support and Command.
Battle Experience is gained from elimination of enemy soldiers, the capture of base facilities, and exploring and interacting with the game world. Support Experience is earned through “Assist” kills: after aiding another player, the first player gains a percentage of experience the other player gains through kills. Command Experience is gained from leading a squad or platoon in a successful base capture. The game also featured vehicles, ranging from aircrafts to tanks.
We plan to expand the PlanetSide universe with another game and we need your help with the design. After all, who knows the game better than you, our customers, the people who actually play it! Don’t worry about the original PlanetSide, it isn’t going anywhere.”
